Well, not exactly a bug I think. There is an option '--from' mentioned in my man pages (Suse 7.2), but I couldn't find it mentioned on the web. Plus, if I use it, it doesn't work, or, put it this way, it works too much: I can't change what I want. Here's what I do (as user 'saso' and as root):
saso@avani:~/temp > ll cobiss -rw-rw-r-- 1 saso users 4942 Nov 1 21:13 cobiss saso@avani:~/temp > chown -v --from=saso:users saso:saso cobiss saso@avani:~/temp > ll cobiss -rw-rw-r-- 1 saso users 4942 Nov 1 21:13 cobiss saso@avani:~/temp > Am I doing something wrong?
