(1) Complain to the fileutils maintainer for introducing incompatible
     behaviour.
(2) The correct workaround is
      cp -f $(sort $(ALL_MOBJS)) 
$(MODLIB)/kernel/$(MOD_DESTDIR)$(MOD_TARGET)
