Win2000 PIII 700 256M McAfee VScan v4.5.0 settings - scan program files only scan inbound outbound files
Problem. This may not be considered a bug rather a notice to users. While McAfee is running, if ls.exe is executed with a sort option (eg. -t -s) Mcshield.exe sucks up about 98% of the CPU time causing ls.exe to perform very poorly. I believe Mcafee sees every single search access and scans the file. In a directory like /bin with many .exe files this is a problem. This probably happens with other virus software. Solution.
