Hello all!
I'm very sorry about that, but it all seems to be my problem.
I received this file from a DCC and didn't realize that my
incoming-folder was set to my fat32-partition. Sorry again for my
stupidity. So, the file was already shortened - I think xchat didn't
inform me, but I don't know.
So, of course mv didn't tell anything, because there was enough space
for the truncated file. I just tried it with a real ext3->fat32
movement, and mv told me the error. So everything works fine.
btw, I'm using RedHat 7.2, not 7.3 ... that's also my fault :(.
