About chmod...

I have recently installed Cygwin on my PC under Windows 2000, and I have noticed that there is something wrong with chmod. It can neither remove nor add x and r attributes. I don't know if that is some bug or something, but could you tell me how can I deal wih that?   Bartosz Zbierajewski
