I'm sure you already know this, but:
"ls" (version 4.1.9) is described as listing by default in ASCII order, but in fact it ignores case. In ASCII order, of course, capitals precede lower case. This behavior differs from that of version 4.1, which lists by true ASCII order. "ls -v" (version 4.1.9) reverts to true ASCII order, but this isn't documented; the option is supposed to effect only version numbers (suffixes). -- Larry Snyder [EMAIL PROTECTED] Assistant Professor of Neurobiology www.eye-hand.wustl.edu Washington University, School of Medicine Office: (314) 747-3530 Dept of Anatomy & Neurobiology, Box 8108 Lab: (314) 747-4095 660 S Euclid Ave, St. Louis, MO 63110 Fax: (314) 747-4370 _______________________________________________ Bug-fileutils mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-fileutils
