Follow-up Comment #3:
I have now applied this patch in a slightly modified form; there was nothing
wrong with the patch at all. The only reaso0n I did not apply the patch
as-is was that in the time it took to process the copyright assignment, the
target files had been changed slightly. Many thanks for your contribution.
