The gnu-regex.c in the latest development snapshot of gdb (gdb-000216) is out of sync with regex.c in the last released version of glibc (2.1.2). This causes compilation to fail when using static linking. Would it be possible for gdb to use the C library's version of regex.c when it detects that it is being built with glibc? This would reduce the need to keep gdb's version in sync with glibc's.
