The testsuite for gdb-4.18 does not work with the latest available DejaGnu version (1.3), apparently irrespective of the platform. It complains ERROR: (DejaGnu) proc "is_remote host" does not exist. Neither the gdb doc nor the doc of its testsuite says what version of DejaGnu is required, nor where to get newer versions than those on ftp.gnu.org. It said (about a year ago) only it was "generally" available and that I needed "a pretty recent release". A workaround in official gdb releases to work with the latest officially released DejaGnu version would be nice. An official DejaGnu release with the needed features would be even better. Requiring an unavailable version of DejaGnu, the (officially available) Gdb testsuite is of very limited usefulness.
