Thanks to Nicole's help, it appears that my V5.0 of Insight and gdb
are different from what the patch you sent expects to see. In fact,
parts of the patches seem to have been already applied to what I
have. (I manually started applying the patch files)

Evidently there are different V5.0's floating around. :-(

I think I got mine from the cygnus/redhat people. Could you point
me to your version of V5.0 gdb and insight and I'll start from there
and apply the patches?
