Hello!
Excuse me, I have a problem and don't know anybody nearly from me who
can help me! Therefore I call for help in this conference.
I force to use gdb debugger and it's very uncomfortable for a work. The
gdb's command line 'interface' don't me lucky. Recently I known about
DDD debugger (not debugger but visual shell as I understood). The DDD
has very friendly Windowed-interface and 'DDD works over gdb'. (I think
the DDD simply sends a proper command to gdb when I inspect a program
by means of the DDD and then somehow receives result back.)
I have been tried to build it in the last week. Without any success...
I downloaded ddd-3_2_1_tar. There is a sources of the DDD only. Then I
read install notes and tried to start 'configure'. It was clear up that
all files is for UNIX! I have Windows Nt 4.0. My collegue setup 'bash'
shell on my computer. 'configure' said me that:
configure: error: The X11 library '-lX11' could not be found.
Please use the configure options '--x-includes=DIR'
and '--x-libraries=DIR' to specify the X location.
See the files 'config.log' and 'ddd/config.log'
for further diagnostics.
configure: error: ./configure failed for ddd
Oops, I did it again!
Ok, I downloaded lesstif-0.90.0. But I was told that:
configure: error: You must have X11 Revision 5 or higher to compile
Lesstif
Oops, I did it again!
Ok, I try to make Xlt which included into Lesstif package, and:
configure: error: can not find install-sh or install.sh in . ./.
Oops, I did it again!
Ok, I read the installation text again, and I run CVSmake (note I was
promised CVSMake makes all this a lot easier though):
CVSMake: libtoolize: command not found
Oops, I did it... STOP! No more!
I'm ready to say good-bye to all my hopes to build DDD... and work with
pleasure with my litte windows... without typing anything in gdb's
concole...
Help me!!! Please answer my e-mail directly.
Thank you.
