Thanks for the report.  One of the issues is known.  GDB 5.0 doesn't
handle exiting threads graciously.  This will be fixed in GDB 5.1.
Meanwhile you could try using a development snapshot.  See
http://sources.redhat.com/gdb/ for more information.

The RedHat problem is unknown to me.  I cannot reproduce it on my
system with the current development version of GDB.  I suspect that it
is either a bug in the RedHat-specific version of GDB or the pthreads
library distributed with RedHat.  Since the threads debugging support
in the RedHat GDB is quite different from the current code there's not
much I can do for you to solve the problem.  You could try reporting
this problem directly to RedHat though.
