looking for a gdb-backend

Could anyone send me suggestions,
or documentation about how to write a GDB
back-end that is to go onto a dsp?

What are the specific information needed for a
new target and in particular, where are they to
be described, declared, made available?

A back-end for a different target would be useful !

TO BE CLEAR:
I need a piece of code to be loaded on a dsp, 
the target system, in order to communicate 
via serial line to gdb.
