I use Fedora Core 5 with: kernel 2.6.15-1.2054_FC5 gcc 4.1.0-3 These are the last lines of make: input.c:95: error: static declaration of input_thread follows non-static declaration common.h:719: error: previous declaration of input_thread was here make[2]: *** [input.o] Error 1 make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/f/Downloads/gnuchess-5.07/src' make[1]: *** [all] Error 2 make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/f/Downloads/gnuchess-5.07/src' make: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 I changed line 719 of "./src/common.h" i.e. extern pthread_t input_thread; to //extern pthread_t input_thread; and could make successfully (program worked); But I am not sure this Change is suitable or not.
