The eval window is poor and should go. However, there is still info that should be retained somewhere. I have made my comments about epc and wastage. Rob's comments about the bearoff distribution are valid. We should keep that info. I would suggest combining it into a race analysis window. This would show the epc and wastage, with an indication about whether it is from a rollotu or database. The bearoff breakdown should follow. The only other data is for neural net outputs. It is really only useful to someone doing training (although it is sometimes good to be able to see 0,1, and 2-ply evals at the same time.) Joseph is the only person experienced in training, and he doesn't even use gnubg itself for the job. I have vague fantasies about embarking on a next stage of training. That data might be invaluable then, but Idon't really know. Perhaps Joseph should comment. Perhaps it should be downgraded to the Options...Training tab, or removed from the gui like the database generation appears to be. If you're doing this, the same fate should probably befall the Options...Training tab itself. Whilst on the Analyse Menu, Analyse Match & Analyse Session have the same function, so should be combined. -- Ian _______________________________________________ Bug-gnubg mailing list [email protected] http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-gnubg
