Does gnubg really need to support all these different sound systems. It is a bit silly, especially considering the importance and quality of the sounds.
The only library supporting all the systems that we wish to support seems to be libao. Another possibility is gstreamer, which is what gnome will use in the future, and then keep the current solution for windows, don't now about mac users though. I tried to remake the .wav files from the .sco and .orc files, but that failed. Does anybody know when that last worked or where to find sound alternatives.
