The missing text is most likely translated. Could it be a problem with missing mo files, gettext files, or bad locale settings?

This is so Mac specific that I can only guess. Is it possible that you
have other gtk using apps installed, which depends on certain fonts,
not necessarily placed under /usr/X11. Do you run anything like gnome
under mac osx?

Nope, only a few terminal based applications by Macports.
@Thomas: Can you please send us the error messages from the terminal when you start gnubg?
Ciao

Betreff: Missing fonts on MacOS 10.5?
Hi folks,
this is a screenshot from a package installed on a MacOS 10.5. It looks like
the default fonts are missing. Does anyone have an idea? At my system
everything is fine, I also didn't receive any complaints by other users.
Thomas, did you install the complete X11 package including all fonts? You
should control your fonts collection and also take a look into
/usr/X11/lib/X11/fonts.
Ciao
Achim
