I wonder if it my be prudent to actually redefine World Class with higher
settings and go from there?

One thing I'd like to see is that Grandmaster cube be reduced from 3 to 2. 3ply
(or odd ply) for cube decisions can be problematic and give results that may be
unusual. Depreli study pretty shows this as well.

I agree that 4-ply should now be in the standard options, but I think 2-ply =
World Class is a good baseline.

The labels are for convenience only; there is no generally recognised
correlation between title and setting. Therefore, I would prefer to drop
supremo, which I would guess is little used and barely different from the
normal 2-ply.

That would leave:

0-ply: Expert
2-ply: World Class
3-ply: Supremo. I'm ambivalent about 2- or 3-ply cube setting. I've seen the
studies but I do like to use 3-ply cube for holding games, because it is more
accurate in those positions.
4-ply: Grandmaster
