Hi Mike,

I have an four-core Intel i7, with hyperthreading. I did some tests when I
first got it, and chose to set gnubg to use 8 threads.

I also set priorty to "idle" so that gnubg doesn't swallow all the resources
when I'm running a rollout.

Hope this helps.

Subject: [Bug-gnubg] Optimal Setting for Eval Threads

All the references I can find suggest setting "Eval Threads" to the number of
*cores* on your system. Most of these sources, I fear, refer to CPUs that do
not have hyperthreading.

I have a 4-core CPU. With hyperthreading (each core runs 2 threads), it has 8
threads.

So, is the recommended setting for me 4 or 8?

Thanks,
Mike Mannon
