Although I wasn't against using GNU Backgammon (especially with the code
sharing, the licensing etc) in the product name, something I observed
with this official release that has me concerned is the advertising
within the application. I'm probably not alone in saying that GNU
Backgammon tends not to affiliate itself with marketers etc. Often I
have been approached by Backgammon sites asking if we would display
their ads on the site. I know from past developers of GNU Backgammon,
that this was something that was frowned upon.

I'd like to hear some of the other opinions from developers. The alpha
version I got in email didn't seem to have any advertising, if I had
seen them then I would have commented.

I open the floor for discussion.
