The "Linux=Darwin" is debug output comparing Linux to Darwin (Which
isn't equal) so no harm done.

There is now a win32 directory (has been for quite some time) in the
directory tree if you pulled from CVS or the latest snapshot. It sounds
like it doesn't exist (It should). You need that directory even if you
aren't on MS Windows.

Where did you get the sources from, and was this building 1.00? And what
version of Ubuntu?  I use Ubuntu and Debian systems here (32 and 64 bit)
and haven't seen this issue.
