Wayne Joseph reports that the GNU Backgammon Position ID: DCBwdwcE8IE9Qw, when pasted into GnuBg, does not produce the desired result.
The reason for this is because the Position ID was not accompanied by its corresponding Match ID. A Position ID can only be interpreted correctly after checking the Dice Owner field of the Match ID. The first part of a Position ID contains checker positions for the player who is not the dice owner. The second part contains checker positions for the dice owner. In the absence of a Match ID, GnuBg must guess which player owns the dice. Obviously, this information will not be of help if you do not have access to the Match ID for your position. You might, however, try tricking GnuBg. Set up any position where the dice owner is the player you need. Copy the Match ID for this position, and pair it with the Position ID you are having trouble with. Paste the two as a unit into GnuBg. Hope this helps.
