It seems that although the function was officially deprecated in 2.32.0, previous code bases started marking it as deprecated early. Looking at https://git.gnome.org/browse/gdk-pixbuf/plain/NEWS?id=2.31.2 . It says "Deprecate GdkPixdata" which happens to include the function "gdk_pixbuf_new_from_inline" . 2.31.2 was released at the latter part of 2014. My guess is that when I did the work 3 years ago this functionality wasn't deprecated at the time (in what was beta Gtk3 aka 2.99). It looks as if this was deprecated by the time Gtk3 came out of beta as 3.x.x. >From my perspective this is a new item, and I'm 100% sure it wasn't flagged previously.
