Hi Steve,

It is probably due to the match score.

The Crawford rule says you can’t redouble in the first game after the opponent
reaches 1 away from winning. E.g. at 4-1 in a 5-point match.

Gnubg will also roll automatically when the cube is “dead”, that is, when it is
high enough to win the match for you already. For example, a 2-cube at 5-2 in a
7-point match.

Hope this helps.

Subject: [Bug-gnubg] Can't redouble / doubling cube missing

I'm running 1.05.000 on an Ubuntu desktop. gnubg is highly entertaining,
however, I'm mystified and frustrated by two things:

1. The doubling cube fails to appear in some games.

2. Other times when I own the cube, gnubg automatically rolls my dice without
giving me the opportunity to redouble.

Can someone tell me why this happens?

Many thanks!
