Could you tell what version you installed ? One where this kind of problem happened is 1.06.001. It crashed (on both Windows 7 ans 10) as soon as you used a screen with anything but a rather low resolution. If you went from an earlier version to 1.06.001, or used 1.06.001 from the start but went from something like an entry-level laptop to a larger screen, that could be the cause of your problem.
