The sample size is over 100 games and GNU rolls higher start die about 80%.  
So, I simply restart until I start first 50% of the time.  However remains 
damned annoying. 

Overall, an enjoyable software package.  It re-introduced me to backgammon 
after a 20+ year absence.

Over how big a sample of starting rolls is that 80% measured?
