The "C/C++ Programmer's Guide for NonStop Systems" mentions POSIX.1 from 1990
and POSIX.2 from 1992. Refer to the POSIX history at
  <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/POSIX>

The 2004 edition is only a minor update (bug fixes) of the 2001 edition.
POSIX:2001 is the same as "Single UNIX Specification Version 3" and the same as
the "Base Specifications Issue 6". Three different names for the same standard.
