see no packages that use it [1] [2]:
$ grep 'eealloc' used-modules/*
Returns nothing.
And also:
$ gnulib-tool --extract-recursive-dependents 'eealloc'
eealloc
But since Bruno wrote it, best to wait for his opinion before messing
with it too much.
