The input method style specification which was done through the environmental
variable GNUSTEP_INPUT_METHOD_STYLE are now done through the user default
GSXIMInputMethodStyle.
You can use it in a usual manner: $ defaults write NSGlobalDomain GSXIMInputMethodStyle <val> where <val> is RootWindow, OffTheSpot, or OverTheSpot.
