Follow-up Comment #7, bug #22351 (project gnustep):

This problem happens quite often in Debian as of Base 0.14 (which has the
--auto option by default), with many applications; users have reported such
problems on i386, powerpc and amd64.  The solution in comment #1 does not
help, unfortunately.

I've been using a modified GNUstep Base on all my machines for some time and
I can't reproduce the problem with the attached patch.  This is not a clean
solution either, since it generally slows down app startup time.

Either way, debugging this obscure problem is really hard.
