Follow-up Comment #3, bug #23740 (project gnustep):

No warning present during compilation.  I don't think it's a compiler issue.

Also, I am using the art backend, not the cairo backend.  I should have
stated this in the beginning.

One other correction... it's happening when window borders are being drawn
too.
