great to see about MidnightBSD.  Looks like a very cool project. :-)

Since it's a fork of FreeBSD, would it be more efficient to just use the
FreeBSD
compile/link flags ?  As a comparison, there are millions of Linux
distributions
and all of them are classified as linux and use exactly the same
compile/link
commands.  That's quite efficient.

Anyway, if MidnightBSD needs special/different compile/link flags, obviously

we need to account for that.  Otherwise it could fall under the freebsd
category ?

[I understand there might be a "political" issue in that you want to
distinguish
yourself from FreeBSD but it's unlikely that real users will actually ever
know or
care about what os name is used by gnustep-make to pick up compilation flags
;-)]
