#33671 is a bug in -make, which I reported months ago but which Nicola doesn't
seem to want to fix.  It was introduced just before the last -make release and
means that the wrong linker flags are passed when linking a subproject on
Linux.  I would take a look, but it doesn't seem to be broken on FreeBSD, only
on Linux, which is why I didn't see it.
