Details:

GNUstep handling of top-level-nib objects doesn't seem to match Cocoa. in
Cocoa, top-level-nib objects are retained, and the application is responsible
for releasing them. in GNUstep the objects don't seem to be retained.

attached is a small sample project to illustrate the issue.
awakeFromNib starts a timer and after 4.5 seconds a method wants to add a
top-level-object from the nib, a NSBox to the window. in cocoa this works just
fine, in gnustep this crashes because the box already has been deallocated.

i can't believe that something so fundamental is broken in gnustep, perhaps it
only occurs for XIB files?
