I tend to consider 10 years of support to be about right for base, but I know
gui/back is different.
The thing is, I don't think it's unusual for gnu/linux distributions to
include packages with versions several years old ... particularly when you are
looking at quite stable packages with minimal changes.
So ... would it be worth simply adding:
#ifndef FC_WEIGHT_ULTRABLACK
#define FC_WEIGHT_ULTRABLACK FC_WEIGHT_BLACK
endif
