Hello,

users can always disable safe-browsing if they don't like it, actually I
see more advantages than disadvantages to leave it enabled by default,
or am I missing something?

We already had discussions about the default search engine to use in
IceCat and still I don't see any real reason to change from Google to
something different, are you thinking of another valid alternative?
