Hello, amazing day to y'all. After installing uMatrix through gnuzilla.gnu.org and going to the add-on's preferences I've noticed that it comes with non-free hosts file (non-commercial use only) enabled by default, meant to block e.g. trackers, so these serve practical purpose and therefore it is ethically required that they be free according to GNU philosophy.
nuTensor, an uMatrix fork also available in gnuzilla.gnu.org, also has non-free hosts files as far as I've checked, not sure if these were brought over from my uMatrix installation (but I've already uninstalled uMatrix due to the freedom issues, so maybe the non-free hosts files are present in nuTensor proper rather than being brought over from the uMatrix installation) An add-on similar to uMatrix but simpler and without the freedom issues seems to be https://gnuzilla.gnu.org/extension.php?id=2761197 Thank you for listening. -- All the works that are 100% my own, in my emails and elsewhere, are libre (free as in freedom) and in public domain, see https://pst.moe/paste/yhsdsh to know more
