Hi
I hope i report this bug from the good way, if not, please accept my
aplogies and ignore that mail as it's my first bug report.
OS version : Debian Squeeze (6.0 , 6.2 , 6.7)
Grep version : GNU grep 2.6.3
Bug description :
We have been facing a weird behaviour of "grep -E" on Debian Squeeze
versions which seems not to happen in lenny or wheezy versions.
Exemple :
echo "tanZANIE" | grep -E '^[a-z]{2,20}$'
No output (normal behaviour)
echo "tanzANIE" | grep -E '^[a-z]{2,20}$'
output : "tanzANIE"
another exemple :
echo "aB" | grep -E '^[a-z]{2,20}$'
output : "aB"
There seem to be a little problem with case sensitiveness or something.
It doesn't happen when using the -P option instead of -E, in this case
it will work normally.
Hoping it helps.
Best regards,
