Summary: [mdoc] align styling of headers and man page cross references with man(7) Project: GNU troff Submitter: gbranden Submitted: Sat 20 Aug 2022 01:02:24 PM UTC Category: Macro mdoc Severity: 1 - Wish Item Group: Rendering/Cosmetics Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Planned Release: None _______________________________________________________ Follow-up Comments: ------------------------------------------------------- Date: Sat 20 Aug 2022 01:02:24 PM UTC By: G. Branden Robinson <gbranden> Even in groff 1.22.4, styling was inconsistent between _groff man_(7) and _groff mdoc_(7)--for example, the latter used small caps for several purposes and splashed the Courier family all over the place--but the divergence has largely increased since then due to my reformist approach to _man_(7). Ingo pointed out that with the new _groff man_(7) "MF" string, this divergence is visible even on terminals. Bring them into closer alignment. Perfection may not be possible or even desired, because _mdoc_(7) has more semantic information available to it. For now. Until one of my next reforms... _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?62926> _______________________________________________ Message sent via Savannah https://savannah.gnu.org/
