Follow-up Comment #2, bug #40963 (project groff):
Heirloom troff has the .minss request to let users specify how much shrinkage
they'll allow to their spaces.
Unlike groff, Heirloom troff maintains AT&T troff's original units (1/36 em)
for its .ss request, and also uses these for .minss.
