Follow-up Comment #1, bug #64354 (project groff): I like this feature and have used it in my software which generates troff output from other sources. It's advantage is that it does not clutter up name space for a colour which may be used only once.
Also, it seems to be used in our own documents:- [derij@pip build (new-gropdf)]$ ./pic ../doc/pic.ms | fgrep "\D'F" | ct \&\D'Fg 0.100' 1 \&\D'Fg 0.600' 1 \&\D'Fg 0.500' 6 \&\D'Fg 1.000' 8 \&\D'Fg 0.000' 26 Total 42 I suppose if our normal 20+ years for deprecation is used, I won't be here. :-) Also, you don't explain why you consider this a layering volation, when all other \D'x' result in Dx output as well. The other colour controls all deal in colour names, but if you want to compute a colour this is the boy for you, it serves a different purpose. _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?64354> _______________________________________________ Message sent via Savannah https://savannah.gnu.org/
