Follow-up Comment #1:
Patch displays incorrectly because, not being in a "verbatim" block, some
asterisks were interpreted as markup. Reposting.
Also updating filename being patched, which was changed in
[http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/groff.git/commit/?id=f2f52b9a commit
f2f52b9a]. With this modification, it applies cleanly to the current code.
Whether it's a good idea, I cannot say.
