Bug #60820 clarified the documentation to explain how the "|" operator doesn't
position from what one might intuitively think of as the top of the page.
But this top-of-page caveat applies to more than just the "|" operator. In an
email thread a couple years ago
(http://lists.gnu.org/r/groff/2023-01/msg00015.html), a user ran into
difficulty positioning an image at page top using PDFPIC/PSPIC. The
explanation about troff's vertical-coordinate origin perhaps could be worded
more generally.
