With groff 1.23.0 (groff-base 1.23.0-9 Debian package), I get the following
annoying warning:

cventin:~> echo '.TH' | groff -Tutf8 -mandoc
grotty:<standard input>:6: warning: unrecognized X command 'sgr 0' ignored
()
()

()

This was reported here:

  https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/groff/2023-07/msg00049.html

so more than 2 years ago. But apparently nothing was done.

According to strace, the following seems to be run:

cventin:~> echo '.TH' | troff -mandoc -Tutf8 | grotty
grotty:<standard input>:6: warning: unrecognized X command 'sgr 0' ignored
()
()

()

In the output of

echo '.TH' | troff -mandoc -Tutf8

there is "x X tty: sgr 0", and I suppose that this is what triggers the
warning in grotty.
