Here's a reproducer for Doug's observation.


$ cat ATTIC/67866.roff
.PS
spline right 1 then down .5 left 1 then right 1
arrow from .s of last spline down 1
arrow from .se of last spline up 1
.PE


He's right.  It doesn't make much sense.  I have no idea how GNU _pic_ deduced
"end" from ".s" and ".start" from ".se".
