I didn't get any feedback on this, so it won't be going in for _groff_
1.24.0.
It's worth recording that some fonts won't have need of a mapping file,
because they contain only glyphs that don't correspond to a pre-defined
_groff_ special character escape sequence. (See _groff_char_(7).)
Consider fonts covering Cyrillic, Greek, or Thai scripts, or emoji.
Postponing.
