Follow-up Comment #1:

This ticket does not report a defect in GNU _groff_ as presently configured.
Perhaps Bjarni observed it in his fork, which I term "bjarnigroff".

I'm reinterpreting this report as a desire to see a change like the foregoing
in the _doc/doc.am_ file's target rule for "automake.pdf".

If warnings in category "style" are enabled, then I do expect messages like
the following.

  GROFF doc/automake.pdf
troff: backtrace: file '/home/bg/git/groff/build/../doc/automake.mom':61
troff:/home/bg/git/groff/build/../doc/automake.mom:61: warning: end of
sentence detected before end of text line [-w style]
troff: backtrace: file '/home/bg/git/groff/build/../doc/automake.mom':93

[more warnings]

troff: backtrace: file '/home/bg/git/groff/build/../doc/automake.mom':769
troff:/home/bg/git/groff/build/../doc/automake.mom:769: warning: end of
sentence detected before end of text line [-w style]

Seems a harmless enough suggestion, and I like the idea of more of our
documents modeling idiomatic _roff_ composition well.
