I am also willing to work towards that goal as we in Dresden have a
need to support a few more NICs. You mentioned earlier that adding
support for ``GRUB extensions'' or ``GRUB executables'' is a
precondition for new work on the netboot support, so I suggest you
first work on this precondition to give other people a chance to care
about the rest. :-)

Also, I wonder why people still work on ``converting Linux drivers''
when a framework doing all this is already available -- see the OSKit
at <URL:http://www.cs.utah.edu/flux/oskit/>. A agree that 500+ pages
of documentation seem scary at first, and that there is a small
learning curve to get used to OSKit's componentware conventions (COM),
but I assure you it's not difficult at all. I had to do this when I
built an Ethernet-driver server for the Fiasco microkernel, and I got
the impression of a very well modularized and portable kit; see
<URL:http://home.pages.de/~hohmuth/prj/oskit-l4.ps.gz> for a
draft report describing my work.
