It's not trivial. BIOSes that can boot from CD-ROMs have both ATAPI/SCSI
drivers and code for doing floppy/HD emulation. If Grub is running on a
computer with such a BIOS, then maybe it's possible to (re)activate these
routines. If Grub is running on a computer without such a BIOS, Grub has
to deal with ATAPI communication, floppy emulation etc (very difficult).
Correct me if I'm wrong.
