Hallo!

Grub is crashing on my machine any time it tries to read a partition.
The command "root" gave no output and died, "geometry" prints the
geometry of the harddisk, but crashes if it tries to read the filesystems.
I have an Award-Bios ver. 4.50G and an onboard Adaptec 7880
SCSI-controller BIOS v 1.22 with GRUB ver. 0.5.93 . It was compiled with
Linux and binutils ver. 2.9.1.0.19. I have only SCSI-Disks in the system
and the IDE-controller is disabled. The behavior is the same on every
three harddisks, 1 Seagate Baracuda Wide 2.1GB and two IBM DCAS-34330W
4.3GB. I always used a floppydisk for booting. The same floppy recognizes
all partitions well on my Laptop with a IDE-drive. With grub version
0.5.92 the behavior was the same. I also tried the LBA version of stage1
, but that could only produce LBA Errors.
Thanks for the programm anyway, seems to be very interesting to me

Your
    Michael
